DO.X DAMAGED BY FIRE; ONE WING DESTROYED
REPAIRS EXPECTED TO TAKE SOME WEEKS. LONDON, November 29. A fire which occurred on the giant German aeroplane Do.X destroyed the machine’s left wing. The fire was due to a spark from an auxiliary battery. The crew, aided by local Portuguese firemen, saved the 'plane from total destruction. Repairs to the damaged wing will take several weeks, but they are not expected to prevent the machine starting on the proposed Atlantic flight in January.
