OBITUARY.
THOMAS RUNDLE. (Special to the “Star.”) GREYMOUTH, November 29. The death occurred this afternoon of an old and respected resident of Greymouth in the person of Thomas Rundle, senior, of Puketahi Street. Air Rundle, who had reached the age of 95 years, had been a resident of the Coast for 66 years, 44 of which were spent in the No Town district. A native of St Austell, Cornwall, Mr Rundle arrived in Melbourne in 1861 where he followed his occupation of carpenter for six months. He then came to New Zealand during the mining rush in Otago and worked on the Dunstan and Shotover fields for eighteen months, subsequently coming to the Coast. Airs Rundle died ten years ago. The late Mr Rundle leaves a family of three sons, Thomas Clement, and Edward, and two daughters, Alesdames Heffernan and Rundle (all residents of Greymouth).
