LONDON'S NIGHT LIFE AT ST JAMES' THEATRE.
The Soho beloved of novelists and romanticists serves as a background for the super all-British photo-play " Greek Street,” which commences at St James Theatre to-day. " Greek Street ” is notable for its choice of story and delicacy of treatment. With its romantic theme of London’s night life, told around Piccadilly Circus. Shaftesbury Avenue and Soho Square, its musical elements ajnd an array of attractive and intriguing characters, the film has a charm of Its own which is developed to the full by the producer’s sympathetic and Interesting directorial methods. "Greek Street” has numerous other points presenting themselves for appreciation. Outstanding are the personal charm and performance of Sari Maritza. who makes her debut in talking films in the leading feminine role. 7.ike the photography and the British accen. recording, moijnting and dressing of the film equally have that touch of distinction which makes a picture wholly aeeepable to audiences, and it is confidently predicted that “Greek Street.” will prove to be one of the most successful of British talkies ever screened in Christchurch. It has many tuneful musical numbers.
