MAURICE CHEVALIER POPULAR IN LONDON.
A message .from London last month indicated that the public were very enthusiastic regarding the personal appearance at the Dominion Theatre of Maurice Chevalier, which is to take place from December 1 to 13. Negotiations have been concluded whereby the Libraries have bought £IO.OOO worth cf seats. This is by far the biggest deal ever done for a two-weeks’ season, and creates a record in the history of the theatre, according to Mr Clifford Whitley, who is responsible for Maurice Chevalier’s London appearance. Altogether Mr Whitley has had more than 2000 letters asking for seats, and apart from the Library deal, has booked £3OOO worth of seats in the first week.
