CHRISTMAS COMPETITIONS.

ENTRIES CLOSE NEXT SATURDAY.

Next Saturday is the closing date for entries for the “ Star’s ” Christmas Competitions, but late entries will be received till December 9th. Send your entry forward as early as possible.

In keeping with our practice of other vears, the Christmas number of the “Star” will contain one full page for the children. Aunt Hilda hopes the children will try hard and help her to maintain the high standard we have always achieved. Below are the classes for -competition. Place your age, name and address very clearly on each entrj’and observe the closing date. Seniors. (Over twelve years and under eighteen.) Best drawing (Indian ink). Subject: “Father Christmas Arrives by* Air.’’ Prizes: 10s and os. Best Christmas story, not over 600 words. Any topic. Prizes: 10s and ss.

Juniors. (Under twelve years.) Best Drawing (Indian ink). Subject: “Flow I Hope My Stocking Will Look.” Prizes: 10s and ss. Best Christmas story, not over' 200 words. Prizes: 10s and os. Special Prize. A special prize of 10s will be awarded for the best photographic study of a child and a pet. Address entries in children’s section to Aunt Hilda, care of “Star” Office. All entries will close on Saturday, December 6. Will entrants for the “Premier” Prize please forward clippings and marks to Aunt Hilda by December 6 ?
