MANY CASES HEARD AT ASHBURTON COURT.

(Special to the “Star.” 1 ASHBURTON, November 28. Judgment was given for plaintiff bv default in the following cases which were heard by Mr C-. R. Orr-Walker. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day: Commissioner of Taxes v. Perciva! Samuel Blight, £25 Os 7d, costs £1 12s; H. M. Jones and Son, Ltd., v. Charles Stephens £6 lls Bd, costs £1 12s 6d. In a judgment summons case J. W. Commyns was ordered to pay J. M’Pherson £23 14s 4d, with costs £1 lls 6d, in monthly instalments of £3, the first to be paid on December 31, or in default 21 days. J. Elder was ordered to pay the Farmers' Co-op £3 2s 3d, in default 48 hours. George Harris was ordered to pay E. J. Burgess £6 12s 3d on or before December 31, in default ten days, warrant to be suspended if he pays monthly instalments of £3. D. M’Kendry, junior, was ordered to pay R. Stevenson £23 7s 6d, in default 21 days, warrant to be suspended if he pays £3 in monthly instalments. Ray Smith was ordered to pay D. W. Herron £l7 7s lid, in default seven days, the warrant to be suspended if he makes monthly payments of £l, the first to be on December 31. Traffic Cases. William James Parkes had liia license suspended for six weeks for riding a motor-cycle in a dangerous manner. On a charge of negligently driving a car, Albert Hugh Flay was convicted and fined £2. and for failing to notify the police of an accident, he was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
