PROVISION OF WORK FOR THE UNEMPLOYED.
PROPOSED SUBSIDY TO BE CONSIDERED SOON. An important conference of representatives of local bodies in Christchurch will be held in the City Council Chamber on Monday morning at 10 o’clock, for the purpose of discussing with members of the Unemployment Board the question of taking advantage of the board’s offer of a subsidy of £2 for £1 on expenditure on the provision of work for the relief of unemployment before Christmas.
