YOUTH SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER.

Herbert Donovan, aged eighteen, was found guilty of the murder of Mrs Elizabeth Little, and was sentenced to death. The jury put in a recommendation for mercy on 'account of the prisoner’s youth. Mrs Little, a widow, was found murdered outside a cowshed on her farm at Stratford. Gippsland. Her hands and legs were tied with rope, and she had a gash in her head. The sum of l\o was stolen by Donovan, who was an employee on the farm.
