BROADSIDING THRILLS AT SPEEDWAY, SATURDAY.
Monica Park Speedways will be the scene of many thrills on Saturday night, and the programme will have the spice of variety. The huge concourse of people will be given an opportunity of acclaiming Oscar Garden, New Zealand’s air hero, who will be driven round the track. The skilful Australian rider, “ Daredevil ” Durkin, is scheduled to give an exhibition of side-car racing, and this is said to be a series of super thrills. Durkin and Hamberger, “speed kings ” from Wentworth Oval, Sydney, will make their final appearance, and greater familiarity with the track will make them a dangerous pair. The two popular Canterbury cracks, Marsh and Lunn. will race for the Gold Helmet, always an interesting event. Broadsiding will commence at eight o’clock.
