Made Pact To Die Together, But His Nerve Failed Him At Last.

Franz Khristina, a Czech Government official, was the central figure in a triple love affair. A remarkably handsome fellow, he was charged with murder. He arranged with his fiancee, Elizabeth Matula, and a friend, Zora Klasovitis to die together as all three loved each other. , They spent the day eating, drinking and dancing and then went to a romantic ruin in Calvary Mountain. Khristina explained: “ The girls wanted me to shoot them straight away. ‘No/ I said, we will wait till midnight/ Elizabeth asked to be shot first, but Zora pushed the revolver into my hands and said, No, me first. Still I waited. Elizabeth said: ‘lt could have been over long ago.’ ” Khristina concluded: “ Alt 1 know is that I shot Elizabeth and then placed the pistol to my temple. Zora snatched it away and I took her head in my hands. She shut her eyes and I fired. Then terror overcame me. I rushed down the mountain and surrendered to the police.” Accused was sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
