YOUNG MAN ARRESTED ON BURGLARY CHARGE.
(Special to the “ Star. ) AUCKLAND. November 26. During the absence of Mrs Howie from her home at 100. Wheturangi Road, One Tree Hill, yesterday morn ing, a thief entered after smashing a window at the rear of the house and opening it from the inside. Although a thorough search had been made by the intruder, nothing was stolen. It is believed that he was disturbed while at work. Shortlv after midday Mrs Howie re turned home, and on entering her front Rate she was surprised to find a man leaving the rear of the house. As the man passed Mrs Howie on the pathwa\ at the side of the house he inquired where “Mr Fitzgerald ” lived, t >ll enter ing, Mrs Howie discovered that her home had been broken into, ami she immediately telephoned the police Petectives were quickly on the scene but could not find any trace of the man she had seen leaving the house. How ever, M rs Howie was able to give a good description of the man. lhis morn ing Detectives Hunt and Moon arrest ed a suspect, a young man.
