Dr Bradshaw will give an organ recital at the CathedraK this evening at 8 o’clock. Miss Millicent Jennings will sing two sacred solos. The following is the programme; Overture to the Oratorio, “Athaliah” (Handel); Chorale, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’* (Bach); Grand Fantasia in F Minor (Mozart); Vocal Solo, “God is Aye Our Sun and Shield” (Bach); Allegretto from the Symphony to the “Hymn of Praise” for orchestra (Mendelssohn); “The Ride of the Valkyries,” for full orchestra (Wagner); Air with Variations in B Flat (Hiles); Vocal Solo, “O Rest in the Lord” (Mendelssohn); Pas. torale, “In Springtime” (Hollins), (a) “Le Badinage,” (b) Marche Solennelle (Mailly). The time for the Atlantic crossing by steamer has been lowered by 21 days 44 minutes in the 111 years which have elapsed since the Savannah made the first Atlantic crossing by steamer from Savannah to Liverpool in 1819.
