RELIEF FOR VICTIMS OF ADVANCED T.B.
Of late years surgery has been successfully used in certain t)'pes of advanced cases of consumption. This is particularly so in Germany and Scandinavia, and it is also being largely practised in England. With a view of giving the greatest advantage to the patients in the institutions managed, by the North Canterbury Hospital Board, the Public Health Committee recommended the board to invite applications for the position of honorary surgeon to the tuberculosis institutions. The recommendation was adopted this morning at the usual meeting of the board.
