SOUTH AFRICAN SCOUTS REFUSE TO ALTER OATH
PLAN TO UNITE TWO ORGANISATIONS FAILS. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received November 26, 11.30 a m.) CAPE TOWN, November 25. Negotiations between the Voortrekkers movement and the South African Boy Scout Council for the establishment of an independent South African Boy Scout movement have broken down. The Yoortrekkers wanted the oath to God and the King changed to God and the Fatherland, as well as to abolish the Union Jack at camps. The Scouts Council refused, and suggested that the matter be referred to General Hertzog.
