BOXING TOURNAMENT BILLED FOR TUESDAY
The Otago Boxing Association having accepted the invitation of the Christchurch Sports Club to send a representative team of boxers to compete for, the Waironga Shield, which was given for competition between the amateur boxers of the two provinces, the tournament will be held by the Christchurch Sports Club In the Civic Theatre cn Tuesday next, commencing at 8 p.m., when there is every promise that one of the jinest contests of the season will be staged. The Canterbury representatives performed well at the New Zealand Championships this year, and have since trained hard for this tournament. The Otago team includes several provincial champions, including Leckie, Lowe and Webber. With such a formidable combination to meet the local champions the contests in the various weights should give an exhibition of really first-class boxing.
