The Soviet Embassy in London repudiates entirely the alarmist reports from Russia. The “Morning Post’’ correspondent at Riga now says that a relative calm has returne dto the Kremlin and M. Stalin is again completely master of the situation. The correspondent adds: ‘Nevertheless, there undoubtedly has been a serious conspiracy against Stalin..” 500,000 DEMONSTRATE AGAINST ACCUSED. Nearly 500,000 people by prearrangement demonstrated against the accused outside the court where the trial of the professors on counter-revolutionary charges began to-day. The opening stages were occupied with the reading of an indictment, including M. Ramzin’s alleged confession. The proceedings are being broadcast.
