(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND, November 24. “If tve could only get people to save their money in times of prosperity, instead of spending it so freely, and in times of depression to spend it more freely instead of saving so rigidly, we would to a considerable extent iron out the humps and hollows which give the community such an unpleasant journey along the commercial thoroughfare when times are bad.” So said Mr R. A. Laidlaw, managing director of the Farmers’ Trading Company', when addresisng fellow Rotarians to-day' on the time payment system of purchase.
