MASONIC GRAND LODGE . WILL OPEN TO-MORROW
LORD BLEDISLOE WILL BE INSTALLED GRAND MASTER Lord Bledisloe’s installation as Grand Master will be the outstanding event in the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons of New Zealand, which will be opened in the Masonic Hall to-morrow morning. The principal events are as follows: WEDNESDAY. Morning.—Grand Lodge. Afternoon.—Garden party. Evening.—lnstallation. THURSDAY. Afternoon.—Visit to “ Otahuna.” Evening.—Conversazione. About 350 members are expected to attend Grand Lodge, and many of them will arrive in Christchurch to-dav, staying at the Clarendon Hotel, unless they have made private arrangements. Various delegates from the south arrived in Christchurch last evening. Amongst them were the retiring Grand Master, Mr J. J. Clark, and the President of the Board of Benevolence, Mr S. F. Bridgeman (Dunedin). The Grand Secretary, Colonel George Barclay, who is in charge of the arrangements for the Communication, has already taken up his residence in Christchurch His headquarters are at 96, Gloucester Street, where Grand Lodge business will be conducted for the next two years. The installation of the GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, as Grand Master for New Zealand for the ensuing year will take place to-morrow evening in the Civic Theatre and the ceremony will be performed by the retiring Grand Master, Mr J. J. Clark. Afterwards Mr J. 11. Ilarkness (Westport) will be installed as Pro-Grand Master, and Mr O. H. Moiler, of Dunedin. as Deputy-Grand Master. Seating will be assured for all Mastej Masons, who are cordially invited to attend. Tomorrow afternoon there will be a garden party at the residence of Mrs D. Crozier, 47, Fendalton Road. A special car will leave Cathedral Square at 2.8 p.m. On Thursday afternoon, there will be a motor drive to “ Otahuna.” the residence of the lion Sir Keaton Rhodes, who has placed his grounds at the disposal of the Entertainment Committee. In the evening the annual conversazione will be held in the kiosk of the Metropolitan Trotting Club.
