WARM WRAPS WORN WITH FLORAL FROCKS AT RICCARTON

Filmy frocks, with their long trailing skirts and fluttering cape collars, were partly hidden beneath fur coats and cosy wraps at the Riccarton racecourse to-day—the third day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s metropolitan meeting. A keen easterly breeze made conditions rather unpleasant on the lawns. The sefene, however, was a beautiful one, with the colourful floral frocks of the womenfolk making a gay contrast to the fresh green of the lawns and the deep blue cloud-swept sky.
