SELF-DENIAL APPEAL BY SALVATION ARMY.
The annual street collection, organised by the divisional headquarters of the Salvation Army, was held to-day. The effort was to aid the general self* denial appeal which supports the work done by the Salvation Army in New Zealand and in the missionary fields abroad. Willing workers from the city corps and the following suburban corps were to be seen at every corner selling the white badges Linwood, St Albans, SpreydoA, New Brighton, Sumner, Kaiapoi and Sydenham. It is anticipated that the collectors’ boxes will show an increase on last year’s appeal.
