INTRUDER SURPRISED IN ST ALBANS HOUSE.
Surprisd in a house at 63, Innes Road, cn Tuesday evening, an intruder escaped on a bicycle which lie had left outside and led pursuers a chase before he finally got away. The house was that of Mr Hugh .1 Herriott, who was out for the evening. When he returned he entered by the back doer and heard footsteps inside. He called out and immediately there was a rush of feet. A man, Ringing wide the front door, rushed out. Mr Herriott chased him, but the intruder had a bicycle waiting nearby, and, seising it, soon outdistanced his pursuers. Nothing was taken from the house, though a search had apparently beer, made. The mad broken in through a window. The police are investigating.
