In the fourth round of* the tennis at Newport, Tilden defeated Sutter, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, 2-6, 8-6. Allison defeated E. R. Avory (England), 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. Van Ryn defeated F. J. Perry (England), 6-2, -75, 6-8, 6-3. At Forest Hilwls Miss Nuthall defeated Miss Cross, 6-0, 6-3.
