HINDENBURG ORDERS NEW TAXATION.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, July 2S. The correspondent of the “ Daily Mail ” at Berlin states that President Hindenburg has signed an order requiring Germans to pay the new taxes which the Reichstag refused t,o sanction. These include income tax for bachelors and spinsters 10 per cent higher than for married people, while officials, including post office clerks and company directors, will surrender 2i per cent of their salaries, in addition to paying ordinary taxation. The Government expects that the new imposts will realise £30,000,000.
