At a special meeting of the St Albans School Committee held last night, Mr R. G. Carver was appointed caretaker of the school. There were 62 applicants for the position. FANCY SELLING BATHING COSTUMES THIS WEATHER! Extraordinary as it may seem, with such wintry conditions prevailing, there was quite a demand at Hay’s Warehouse Sale yesterday for the Bathing Costumes which had been advertised. It takes a good deal cf imagination to believe that Bathing Costume weather will ever come again, but there arc certainly some optimists in Christchurch. Of course the big attraction was the price at which these Costumes can be bought, and an investment in one of them at about half their ordinary value is good business.
