“ HOBBS DEFINITELY GROWING ELDERLY.”
(United Press Assn.—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received July 28, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 27. Heavy rain fell at Manchester at nine o’clock last night. Trevor Wignall, commenting in the "Daily Express,” says: “If England’s wickets fall quickly on Monday, the Australians will be in an excellent position. This game has shown that Hobbs is definitely growing elderly. The cricketer’s own wish that he retire at the end of the series should be granted. (A report of the game appears on page 7.)
