Stella W alsh, of Cleveland, Ohio, lias the credit of being the first of her sex to break llsec for the lOOvds. At a sports meeting in Philadelphia she won the century run in 10 4-ssec. Battling for retention of women’s track and field events in the Olympic games, the International Amateur Athletic Federation indicated to-day it would go so lar as to declare a walkout of all male athletes if its demands are not met (says a Berlin message, dated May 21). Thg federation at its closing session this afternoon adopted a resolution proposed by the American delegate, providing that the I.A.A.F. shall remain in Berlin in recess ready to be reconvened in case the International Olympic Congress, meeting litre next week, turns thumbs down On feminine competition. The i Olympic Congress, as cabled, decided to allow certain events for wmen to be included in the Olympic Games programme.
