A New Use For The Eiffel Tower.
T>UILT for an exhibition and maintained as a curiosity, the Eiffel Tower, Paris, entered a new sphere of usefulness with the coming of radio. The * short-wave station there is now to be used as the centre of an extensive police radio service. Receiving stations will be established all over France and at boundary towns and seaports. Broadcasts will take place at inj tervals of an hour at ! a wave-length un- »■ known to all except the police. The system is to be extended in the future until a net is formed from which criminals will And it very difficult to escape. ________________
