MAN FOUND DEAD UNDER HAYSTACK.
APPARENTLY DIED IN HIS NATURAL SLEEP. Charles Erickson. labourer, was : ->und dead under a haystack on the arm property of Mr E. A. Anderson. 66, Preston’s Road, a milk vendor. Erickson was lying in a bed in the haystack with his arms folded, and it is thought that he died in his sleep. The man had been working on the farm, and had been in the habit of using the haystack as a bed because of its warmth. He was last seen alive in the house at about 9.30 last night, when he went out to go to bed in the haystack. Erickson usually gave Mr Anderson a hand in the early morning, and when Mr Anderson went to call him to-day he found him dead. Erickson is believed to have been married, though the whereabouts of his wife are unknown. He was a native of Sweden but -was a naturalised British subject. A brother is living at Southbridge. The police say that there is no suggestion that Erickson was ill-nourished or that he had no money. A quantity of cash was found in his possession today. ____________________
