THE WOMAN RACKET ” AT THEATRE ROYAL.
Thrills of a variety which leave no room for doubt abound at the Theatre Royal this week, where the main feature on the programme is “The Woman Racket.” At its first screening last night, a good audience saw this talkie, and accorded it their rapt attention and unstinted applause. There is nothing very subtle about the plot of “The Woman Racket.” Tom Moore plays the lead, and plays it well. He is the policeman who falls in love with the little cabaret girl, marries her, and then finds that things do not always work out on storybook lines. Blanche Sweet plays opposite him, and the pair work perfectly together. There are other excellent and wtell-played characters in the story. The shorts are well up to standard, comedy holding the floor for most of the time. “Moan and Groan” is a quite well done spook comedy, while “Uneasy Street” gives a brief but witty interlude. Tho news reel is well up to standard.
