HOUSE AT CASHMERE ENTERED BY THIEVES.
The house of Mrs A. Cassidy at 151. •Hackthorne Road. Cashmere, has been entered and ransacked by thieves. This was discovered yesterday by an electric-light inspector who, on visiting the house, found the back door burst in. Mrs Cassidy has been absent. for some weeks. If is not known whether anything has been taken, as Mrs Cassidy is at pr« erit out of town, but the place har been thoroughly searched. A jemmy was used on the back door and on an inside door, but apart from these marks of violence, there is not much to show that the place has been burgled. Drawers, with their contents tossed about, have been carefull-/ restored, and in other ways the work seems to be that of a man who knew that he had plenty of time. Neighbours have heard nothing.
