SALVATION ARMY HOME SHELTERS MANY MEN.
The Salvation Army Men’s Home at Addington housed 130 men last evening, a record number. Thirty-nine men were accommodated in a house taken by the Salvation Army in Clifton Street, and five more slept on the sit-ting-room floor at the institution in Poulson Street. During the first seven days of July 2291 meals were dispensed, in addition to boots and clothing. Mr J. S. Neville, the Town Clerk, has arranged with the military authorities for a further supply of forty blankets, so that the home will be more able to cope with the increasing demand for lodgings.
