An effective method has been adopted bv residents of one suburban district in order to get broken street lights replaced. According to a statement made at a meeting in this suburb last evening, the local authority, a County Council, is not very quick in replacing these lamps, despite many requests. One member has succeeded in getting speedy service by telephoning and stating that a wire had fallen. The result was that a service gang arrived by motor, and when it was found that no wire was down, the lamp was examined and replaced.
