SOUTH AUSTRALIA IN FINANCIAL STRAITS.
PREMIER FORECASTS ECONOMIES IN WAGES.
(United Press* Assn.—By Electric Telegraph-—Copyright.) (Received July 9, 11.30 a.m.) ADELAIDE, July 9. The Premier, Mr Hill, made a statement in the Assembly on the State’s financial situation. The total accumulated deficit for the past four years amounted to £3,881,000. he said. Expenditure would have to be curtailed and salaries and wages reduced. The House adjourned for a fortnight to allow the Government to give further consideration to the position.
