Mr-and Mrs Gladstone Ward, Bristol Street, left for the !north last night. and !Mrs L. Macfarlane (Kaiwara) are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Miss Ethel Gebbie (Fendalton) is the guest of Miss Norah Phillips, Dunedin. Mrs V. Gardiner, Wellington, is visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs T elford are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Mrs A. S. Duncan, Christchurch, is visiting Auckland. Mrs C. M’Kechnie and Miss Kilgour, Greymouth,; are staying at the United Service Hotel. Miss Stops, England, who has been visiting Christchurch, . left yesterday for the West Coast. Mr and Mrs N. G. Preston, New South Wales, are guests at the United Service Hotel. Mr and Mrs M’Narn, of Hotel Ngakawau. West Coast, are staying at the White Hart Hotel. Mrs Ogilvie, Wellington, is paying a visit to her daughter, Mrs T. N. Gibbs, Cashmere Hills. Mrs Charles Buchanan, who has been staying with Mrs Thomson, Timaru, returned home yesterday. Sir Cyril Ward and Lady Ward, Merivale Lane, left last night for Wellington. Dr and Mrs Stanley F raser, Kitchener Square, Timaru, have returned home from Christchurch. Miss Agnes Macfarlane, who returned from England recently, is staying with Airs S. Macfarlane, Weka Street, Fendalton. Miss Hope Pinckney (“ Glenaray,” Southland) arrived in Christchurch today, and is the guest of Mrs James Maling, Durham Street north. Mr'.and Mrs L. Wright and Mrs Ronald Orbell (Oamaru), who have been visiting Christchurch, have returned home. Miss Margaret Reid (Dunedin) is visiting Christchurch and is the guest of Miss Barbara Gibson, Papanui Road. The following are the latest arrivals at the Hotel Federal:—Mr and Mrs H. E. Thomas (Timaru), Mr C. W. Smith, Mr, Mrs and Miss Bennett (Auckland), Mr and Mrs R. J. Gray. Miss Gray (Oamaru), Mr A. W. Barnett (Morven), Mr P. R. Talbot (Timaru), Mr J. Brown (Lowcliffe). The Women’s Cancer Campaign Committee met at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July S. The arrangements for the street collection to be held on Friday, July 11, are well in hand. The request made by this committee for helpers for that day has met with a' very good response. centre of attraction on Friday will be a well provided cake and produce stall in Victoria Square.
