ISLAND’S CONSTITUTION SUSPENDED BY KING.

RUGBY, June 26.
Mr Philip Snowden, Chancellor of the Exchequer, replying in the House of Commons on behalf of the Prime Minister to a question as to whether the measure for the suspension of the constitution in Malta should receive the sanction of the British Parliament, said that, owing to the urgency of the matter, it was necessary to act without delay. The necessary legislation was enacted by His Majesty in Council that morning and w’ould become operative the following day on the proclamation of the Governor in Malta.
