Minus A Wing Forward.
To tha Editor. Dear Sir,—Please allow me to suggest a team which, in my opinion, could win a test. Although I am living away outback I have made a close study as far as I am able, of the form of various players throughout the country. The team I suggest is as follows: — Full-back, Nepia; three-quarters, Minns, Cooke, Steele: five-eighths, Johnson, Nicbolls; half, Kilby; front row, M’Lean, Cottrell, Hazlett; second row, Steere, Alley; back row, Finlayson, M’William, Stewart. The above team are weighty, speedy, and are also endowed with football brains. You will notice that I have eliminated the wingforward. This in my opinion would improve the game, making it more open and spectacular. A game played* by the best British side and the above selection would be worth going a long Way to see. Thanking you for space,—l am, etc., WAY BACK RUGBYITE.
