RAILWAY NOTICES. Test Football Match AT CHRISTCHURCH. BRITAIN VERSUS NEW ZEALAND. SATURDAY, JULY 5. FARES: Holiday Excursion Tickets will be issued to Christchurch from any station South Island Main Line and Branches on 3rd and 4th July, also by trains arriving at Christchurch up to I. p.m. on sth July, available for return until 12th July. Cheap Day Excursion tickets will be I issued to Christchurch as under: — From Waiau, Springfield, Ashburton and intermediate stations including those on Branch Lines between these points, also from stations Timaru to Tinwald inclusive, on sth July by trains arriving at Christchurch up to 2.30 p.m. From stations Arthur’s Pass to Kowai Bush inclusive by the special train leaving Hokitika for Christchurch on sth July. Tickets at Day Excursion fares will be available for return on day 'of issue only. Specimen Day Excursion fares:— From Timaru 15s 6d first class, 10s 6d second class, Temuka 14s and 9s 6d, Ashburton 8s 6d and 5s 9d, Methven 9s 6d and 6s 3d, Southbridge 5s 6d and 3s 6d, Little River 6s and 4s 3d, Springfield' 7s and ss, Kaiapoi 2s 6d and Is 6d, Waiau 13s and 8s 9d, Parnassus 13s 6d and 9s, and correspondingly reduced from other stations. - TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS: SATURDAY, sth JULY. CHRISTCHURCH-WAIAU : Special train connecting with the 6.34 a.m. Cul verden-Christchurch train will leave j Waiau at 6.5 am. Special train for Christchurch leaves Rangiora at 12.30 p.m., Kaiapoi 12.49, Belfast 1.0, Papanui 1.10, Addington j 1.22, and arrives Christchurch 1.27 p.m. | Special train ior Rangiora leaves Christchurch at 4.53 p.m., Addington 4.59, Riccarton 5.7, Papanui 5.15, Bel--1 fast 5.25, Kaiapoi 5.39, and arrives Rangiora 5.56 pan. Special train connecting at Culverden with 5.17 p.m. train from Christchurch will leave Culverden at 8.26 p.m., and arrive Waiau 8.52 p.m. These special trains will stop where required to pick up and set down passengers. CHEVIOT BRANCH: Special train leaves Parnassus 5.45 ajn., Mina 6.11, Scargill 7.5, and arrives Waipara 7.35 а. connecting with Culverden-Christ-church train. Special train for Parnassus leaves Waipara 7.25 p.m., Scargill 7.59, Mina 8.48, and arrives Parnassus 9.12 p.m. Connects at Waipara with evening train from Christchurch. _ These special trains will stop where required to pick up and set down passengers. RESERVATION OF SEATS: Seats will be reserved on the 7.55 a.m. special train from Timaru for Christchurch at a charge of Is to cover the outward and homeward journeys. ROAD MOTOR SERVICES: CHRISTCHURCH-WHITE CLIFFS: ! Usual 4.30 p.m. Bus for White Cliffs will leave Christchurch at 5.30 p.m. Commencing on Monday, 7th July, and continuing until further notice, the following timetable alterations will operate:— CULVERDEN WAIAU: Usual 12.17 p.m. Culverden-Waiau train (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays) J»jll leave Culverden 12.25 p.m., and e Waiau 1.5 p.m. Usual 2.45 p.m. Waiau-Culverden train (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays) will run earlier and will leave Waiau at 2.20 p.m., and arrive Culverden at 3.4 p.m.. thence to Christchurch as at present. 1596 The Railway Department advertises in this issue particulars of timetable alterations between Culverden and Waiau which will operate from July 7.
