Lady Ferguson, of Dunedin, is stay* ing at the United Service Hotel. Mrs E. Vincent, Kingsdown, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs E. Evans, Wellington, is staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs W. P. Endean, Auckland, is a guest at Warner’s Hotel. and Mrs C. B. Barrowclough, Dunedin, are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Mr and Mrs B. Ireland and Miss Sweetman, Invercargill, are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Ernest Neumegen and Miss Joyce Neumegen, Auckland, are guests at the United Service Hotel. Mrs R. Hope, Wai-iti Road. Timaru. A skating carnival, organised by Mesdames H. J. Ballin and E. Boulton, in aid of the Plunket Society, will be held in Olympia Rink on July 4. Invitations have been issued by the Committee of Linwood Football Club to their annual dance to be held in the Winter Garden on Thursday, July 10. The Hornby Plunket Society is holding a Carnival Dance in the Islington Hall on July 1. Bus arrangements have been made., Recent guests at Stonehurst Private Hotel include: Mr and Mrs Suckling, Mr Ball, Mr Barrow, Mr Seymour (Wellington). t Miss Wilkinson has accepted the post of secretary to the Parents’ National Education Union, recently vacated by Mrs Edwin Hay. The following are the latest arrivals at the Hotel Federal: Mr and Mrs JB B. Mee (Aylesbury), Mrs and Miss Miller, Miss Rifddenklau (Waimate), Miss L. Grubb (Methven). Arrangements are well in hand for a Winter Carnival Cabaret to be held in the Cashmere Masonic Hall on July 12 to aid the funds of/*the Plunket Society. There will be numerous novelties and a hot supper will be provided. To augment the funds pi the Cancer Appeal Campaign, a concert will be held in the Civic Theatre to-morrow evening. The programme has been arranged by Mrs Alfred Bunz.x assisted by Mesdames G. W. C. Smithson, Roy Matthews, A. J. Benzie, and Miss N. Williams. Evening dress and dinner coats will be given a respite on July 2, when the Cosmopolitan Cabaret will be held in the Winter Garden. Evening dress is, permitted at this dance. Mr J. Hood, who was secretary for Beath’s memorable fancy dress ball in 1928, has arrangemehts well in hand.
