ROYAL SHOW WILL BE HELD HERE IN 1931.
INTER-ISLAND FREIGHTS TO BE PAID BY SOCIETY.
The Royal Agricultural Society’s annual show will be held in Christchurch next year. This will be the third occasion on which the show has been held in Christchurch, the first having been held here in 1925 and the second in 1927. The Royal Show this year will be held in Hawke’s Bay. In order to encourage antY assist distant exhibitors to show at the Royal Show, the Royal Society in future will pay the boat freight on all stock entered. That is to say, if a South Island exhibitor decides to enter stock for the Royal Show when it is held in the North Island, as this year, boat freight from the South Island to the North will be paid, and vice versa.
This will be welcomed by many breeders, as the freight charges have been rather a heavy tax on them hitherto.
