“THE LONE STAR RANGER” AT LIBERTY THEATRE.
Few writers have enjoyed so much popularity as has Mr Zane Grey, whose novels dealing with life in, the West as it -was in the old days have been read all over the world. In pictures, tod. His books’ have made many notable successes, nnd the first to be made into a talkie is “ The Lone Star Ranger,” which is being shown at the Liberty Theatre. The story is probably as well known as any Zane Grey has ever written, and is typical of the fast-moving, wnolesome drama beloved by the great American author. The plot is well built and intensely dramatic, working up to a climax which includes plenty of fighting, fast action, and human interest. Into the main plot have been introduced a great many smaller ,side plots of the kind Zane Grey delights in, and in this department the film reaches great heights. Among the short films on the programme is • His Birthday Suit.” an amusing comedy. Eddie Cantor and his orchestra play several numbers well, and a Fox Movietone News film completes an excellent offering.
