WEDDINGS.

CHAMBERS—MATHESON. A pretty wedding took pjac-c recently at St Stephens Church, Shirley, when Mary Dorothy, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Matheson, St Albans, was married to Arthur Robert, son of Mr and Mrs F. O. Chambers, Rangiora. The ceremony was perform-j ed by the Rev J. R. Ilervey, and Mr A. j. Huston presided at the organ. The church, which had been beautifully decorated with autumn flowers and foliage, made a pretty setting for the bridal procession. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Ken Matheson, looked charming in a gown of ivory georgette and taffetas, her embroidered net veil being arranged under a coronet of orange blossom. Touches of pink in her bouquet of white hothouse flowers added a soft note of colour to the bridal toilette. Miss Margaret Matheson, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a dainty frock of hydrangea-blue georgette, with ankle-length skirt and relieved with a diamante buckle. She wore a blue felt hat to tone with her frock, and carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers. The little flower girls, Zira Matheson and Mary Ingold, nieces of the bride, were frocked alike in blue and pink georgette respectively, and they carried Victorian posies. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr F. A. Chambers as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in St Stephen’s Hall, Shirley, where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a navy crepe de chin.e frock and a navy straw hat relieved with an osprey. Her bouquet was of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s mother wore a

black satin frock under a black corded silk coat, a black hat and furs. When Mr and Mrs A. R. Chambers left for their wedding tour the latter was wearing a rosewood eelanese frock, a brown faced-cloth coat with fur collar and. cuffs, and a brown felt hat to tone. NANKIVELL—FORBES. A wedding was celebrated recently at St Paul’s Church, Cashel Street, when Rita Myrtle, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Forbes, Spreydon, was married to Lester Norman, fifth son of Mr and Mrs T. Nankivell, of Dallington. The Rev W. Bower Black officiated, and Mr Norman Williams presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a long-sleeved frock of ivory georgette, with a deep yoke of ivory silk lace, the scalloped skirt of georgette being edged with wide lace to match the yoke, and falling gracefully in four points to the ankles. Her embroidered tulle veil, which fell in soft folds to form a train, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink and white hothouse flowers. The bridesmaids, Misses Hazel and Mabel Forbes, sisters of the bride, were dressed in frocks of mauve and peach georgette respectively, made alike with shirred bodices, and the scalloped skirts falling in an uneven hemline. They wore bandeaux of silver leaves and carried shower bouquets of mauve and peach flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Arthur Hooker as best man, and Mr Len Hale as groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with two horseshoes by Miss Daphne Nankivell (niece of the bridegroom) and Miss Jean Blundell. The guests were afterwards entertained at the Winter Garden, where Mrs Forbes received the guests wearing a navy frock of chartreuse silk, hand-embroidered in fawn, and a navy hat to match. She carried a bouquet of autumn-shaded hothouse flowers. Mrs Nankivell, mother of the bridegroom. wore a black satin frock, trimmed with lace, under a black satin coat, and a hat to match. She carried a bouquet of crimson hothouse flowers. When the happy couple left later for their wedding tour by car, the bride was wearing a black satin dress, a smart navy silk coat and a small felt hat.
