A 500 Problem.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—There were sixteen of us playing the card game of “o 00” and a dispute took place at one of the tables about the rules of the game, and the other tables were asked their opinion. Some did not know who was right and the others were nearly equallv divided, so we decided to applv to some paper. Your paper was proposed and they all said they subscribed or saw it regularly. This is how the dispute took place. A dealt and passed. B said “6 Spades.” C said “6 Diamonds.” D said “6 Hearts.” Then it came to B again. He said “7 Hearts.” but the others said he could not alter the suit he named at first, which was Spades. Would you kindly let us know through your paper who was right?—l am, etc, OLD SUBSCRIBER. B was entitled to change his oall, as ho had not shut himself out of the bidding by passing. Either Cor D might have bid seven no trumps against the call of seven Hearts.—Editor “Star.”
