’PLANE HOPS OFF ON LONG SEA TRIP
FLYING FROM NEW YORK TO BERMUDA FOR PRIZE. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received April 3, 10.20 a.m.) NEW YOPK, April 2. A Stinson monoplane carrying a crew of three, including the navigator, Mr Yancy, took off for Bermuda in an effort to win a prize of 25,000 dollars offered for a Bermuda flight. The difficulty of navigating to the tiny island in the Atlantic has previously repelled aviatorsr. Later advice states that Yancy has radioed that he has landed on a calm sea sixty miles north of Bermuda, where he will remain throughout the night and resume the flight in the mornijig. The flyers are in no danger.
