WILL HAVE TO MAKE GOOD DAMAGE DONE
Two youths appeared before the Children’s Court this morning charged with the unlawful conversion of a motor-cycle valued at £25. The Magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley) adjourned the case for twelve months and ordered each of the accused to pay £3 12s 3d for damage done to the motor-cycle. Chief-Detective Carroll said that the complainant left the motor-cycle in Cashel Street early one evening and on returning at 11 p.m. found it missing. The next day the machine was iound in Bedford Row with parts to the value of £7 odd, missing. The accused admitted taking the machine and riding it down to New Brighton, but they denied the theft of the parts. I hey admitted losing the petrol tank cap. It could not be proved that the accused took the parts, but the theft was the outcome of the bicycle being stolen. Mr Mosley: They will have to make good the loss. According to reports, each of 3 r ou boys has the desire to own a motor-cycle. In view of the number of accidents it is just as well that 3'ou should not own a motor-c3 r cle, at arw rate till you reach the age of discretion.
