Mr F. C. Flay, civil engineer, of Palmerston North, has agreed to place himself at the disposal of the Waimakariri River Trust to make inspectons and report from time to time upon the works being carried out on the Waima.kariri River in accordance with his scheme. A letter was received at yesterday’s meeting of the Waimakariri River Trust from Mr Hay on these lines, but asking that visits of inspection should not be required at closer than two-month intervals. Having been asked to report as soon as possible, Mr Hay has written stating that he will arrive in Christchurch about the middle of this month.
