COMMERCIAL FINANCE AND MARKETS.

PRICES BETTER AT ADDINGTON MARKET. GOOD INQUIRY WAS MADE FOR YOUNG STORE SHEEP. Except for fat lambs and fat sbeep ; there was a much better tone at yesterday’s sale at Addington than there has been for some time. Beef, owing to a short yarding, increased in price up to £l. although the entry was very mixed. There was a good, demand for the better sorts of the small yarding of store lambs, and for store sheep, especially" young ones, there was a consistent demand. Store sheep included lines from the .North Island and the Chatham Islands, and among them were some very good pens. Fat lambs about retained last week s rates, although. if anything, the market was inclined to be a shade weaker. Fat sheep held late rates, the yarding being smaller than that of last week.
