BYRD WILL REMAIN LONGER IN DOMINION.

Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 3. Rear-Admiral Byrd has received radio advice that for thirty hours the City of New York has been hove-to in a fierce cyclone. The Admiral’s departure has been deferred a further fortnight, accommodation for himself and his suite having been obtained in the Rangitiki, which will leave Wellington for Panama on April 24. Admiral Byrd will leave Dunedin on Monday for Christchurch and Wellington. He expressed delight at being able in person tq thank the New Zealand Government, and the Wellington Harbour Board for the great assistance given. After Wellington, Admiral Byrd will visit Rotorua as the guest of the Government, later returning to Dunedin to complete his business. He has consented to give a moving picture lecture at Dunedin on his Arctic and Antarctic flights in aid of the obstetrical fund.
