A Family And Its Politics.

A Woman’s View

The members of most families are, I suppose, tarred with the same political brush, and it may have been that the electors, having one Annstrong in the Council, thought they would not be adding to its strength by putting another in. In this case, at any rate, the soli last night, as deputy for the father, brought the family bond into the limelight. It does not always follow that the children will follow the political convictions of the fathers, though it has been argued against the women’s franchise that the wife always votes as the husband votes; but this again is not true. Nevertheless the tendency is there. For as the family is one body the members normally share a community of thought, and the opinions of one are bound to colour the opinions of the rest. B.E.S.
