SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ RELAY RACE IS HELD. The second annual swimming relay race between the secondary schools of Christchurch took place yesterday afternoon, being held at the Christ’s College baths before a large attendance of the pupils of the various schools. As was the case last year, the race was for teams of four swimmers each, and the six principal secondary schools, Christ’s College, Boys’ High School, St Andrew’s College’, St Bede's College, Technical High School and West Christchurch Dis*trict High School, were each representC Christ’s College were a little the

Boys’ High School then came with a great dash, and were .a touch ahead at the finish of the lap, St Andrew’s being third. The College and School second men took the water together and a great struggle saw tlie former school just hold thv* lead for the second length, in which Technical drew ahead of St Andrew s. A 'good contest then ensued between Ihe two leaders, and fivfe yards from the finish College drew ahead and won by two feet. Technical, who were coming up fast in the concluding stages, were a 3 r ard and a half away third, whilst West Christchurch just headed off St Andrew’s for fourth place. The time for the event, Imin 16 3-5 sec. was a good one.
