LEESTON MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB MEETS.

The annual meeting' of the Leeston Miniature Rifle Club was held at the range on Monday evening. Mr Id. G. Chamberlain was in the chair. The report stated that there had been keen competition in all trophy shoots held last season. The range had been enlarged and a concrete wall built at the back of the butts, this work being performed by members. In the competition matches, the teams had not met with success. Mr Gwatkin; liandicappers, Messrs J. Bryce, I). Ridden and A. E. Brown; checkers, Messrs I. Bryce, R. Gwatkin and W. Parkin; delegates to Association, the president and Messrs H. G. Chamberlain and A. E. Brown; selectors, the president., captain and vice-captain. Appreciation of the services of the retiring president, Mr Chamberlain,v and retiring secretary, Mr F. Ciwatkin, was recorded. The opening night was fixed for Friday, April 11. The subscription fees were reduced to ss, and 2s Gd for junior members. The president and Mr 11. G. Chamberlain were appointed to canvass for trophies. A motion was passed authorising the purchase of a new rifle.
